Pilgrim Family Travels

The Pilgrim Family Travels is a travel blog for families that want the next great adventure but have no idea how to start.

About me and my family….

When we decided to have kids, we decided we really wanted to be present. We wanted to spend time with them, be active and just have fun.

When I was younger, I was quite poor and struggled. I had a child very young and I had dropped out of high school. My only focus was him and providing for him. We would spend a lot of time outdoors, hiking, going to parks and spending time at my parents farm. I finally got my butt back in school, graduated high school and then went on to college to take the Paramedic Program.

I went from having no money to being able to give him all the things I wanted to. I worked a lot and in turn, replaced my time with stuff. In 2003, I met my best friend, who, in 2004 became so much more.

When we decided to start a family, we knew that we wanted to be present, raise our children and give them the most valuable gift, our time.

Our journey to our larger family was not easy and needless to say, the journey took us down roads that somedays were really tough, but today, it is all worth it.

Today we are a family of six, my older son has left the nest and is living his own life. My husband Bryce and I have a biological son and two daughters that came to us when we needed them as much as they needed us. We are a blended family with a lot of extended family. Life is good and I wouldn’t change any of our difficult roads, because somehow they led me here, and here is good.

I have always loved to travel, visit new places, and explore this amazing world. I had no idea how to start initially and it is sometimes quite a learning experience. This blog will share with you some of our adventures and some of the things we have learned. It will also share with you what I do to plan a trip and the steps I take to make sure we all have an amazing time.
